PROTECT OUR PLAYGROUND - ONE YEAR LATER

A year ago, we denounced the destructive impact of the textile industry: 100 billion garments produced each year, less than 1% recycled*, and the majority worn fewer than 10 times before being thrown away.

One year later, the stakes remain critical. The sports sector is no exception: most technical garments are made from petroleum, packed with microplastics, and travel up to 40,000 km before reaching the consumer. Every second, the equivalent of a truckload of textiles is either landfilled or incinerated.

Our oceans continue to be filled with synthetic fibers. The majority of sports equipment at the end of its life is neither recycled nor repaired.

While second-hand markets are growing and awareness is rising, solutions are still marginal.

It’s time to accelerate: change the models, design differently, produce less and better.

At Circle, circularity is not an option, it’s our starting point.

B CORP CERTIFIED

In 2024, Circle joins the B Corp community.

Circle is proud to have achieved B Corp certification in 2024 with a score of 96.1, well above the global average of 50.9.

This international recognition validates our commitment to doing things the right way, ethically, responsibly, and sustainably. It represents a key milestone in our journey, while motivating us to go even further.

What is B Corp certification?

B Corp is the global benchmark label for social and environmental impact. It distinguishes companies that meet rigorous standards in five key areas:

  • Governance
  • Workers
  • Community
  • Environment
  • Customers

B Corp certification evaluates a company’s overall impact through a series of strict criteria. We chose to embark on this journey to measure our real social and environmental impact and to identify areas for improvement.

CIRCLE

FRANCE

SECTOR

The B Corp assessment allowed us to identify all the areas where we need to focus our efforts and to outline a clear roadmap to keep progressing and maximize our positive impact.

There is still much to accomplish, and we are committed to advancing on each of these actions.

We are extremely proud to join the community of certified B Corp companies. Only 8,000 businesses worldwide have obtained this certification so far — including 400 in France (representing just 0.14% of French companies).

We are therefore at the very beginning of this movement, and we will continue to push it as far as possible!

MEASUR TO ACT BETTER

Reducing our environmental impact cannot be done blindly.

It starts with a precise, quantified, and transparent understanding of our emissions. At Circle, we chose to rigorously analyze the carbon footprint of our products throughout their entire lifecycle — from raw material extraction to end-of-life.

In 2024, the products sold by Circle generated 47 tons of CO₂e, covering all stages: raw materials, manufacturing, use, and end-of-life.

This figure is based on Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) covering 60% of our range.

By 2025, our ambition is clear: to extend this analysis to 100% of our products, giving us a complete vision of our impact and enabling us to guide our efforts effectively.

But beyond measurement, we take action.

Thanks to our responsible design choices — bio-based materials, European production, and enhanced durability — Circle products have helped avoid approximately 30 tons of CO₂e compared to a standard market equivalent.

In other words, for every ton emitted, 0.6 tons are avoided.

A significant avoidance ratio that validates the relevance of our approach.
